Hi guys,

has anyone TMJ successful running on the N6230i?

I got it installed, everything seems to be working except:

- can't establish a BT connection to my external BT Mouse (Holux). The BT mouse is already connected to the phone, but within TMJ its not possible to use. Strange.

- everytime I start TMJ on the Nokia, it's asking me to enter user name and pw. On my Bold, i do not have to login everytime I start the app, but here I must. I checked the security settings on my 6230i for the TMJ app, and allowed nearly everything. But ...

Any tipp?

Thx,

ZJ

Hi ZJ,

With the GPS connection, is it that TMJ finds the GPS device in the 'Search for BT-GPS' list but then isn't able to establish a connection, or does it not appear in the list at all, even after using the Refresh option a couple of times? I've had very occasional reports of some combinations of phones and GPS devices not being able to 'see' each other in TMJ, but have never been able to find the cause (it is too rare/random to find a pattern).

If you're able to find out the 'Mac Address' of the BT device (eg by using the Bluetooth options on the BB Bold) you could try the suggestion in this thread as a workaround...

The username/password *should* only be prompted for when they have not already been entered. I wonder if maybe the phone isn't able to properly store these settings, so when restarting it is prompting for them again? If you manually enter them into Menu/Settings/Other Settings/Set TMJ Device Code, are these correctly remembered after restarting? Looking at the spec for the 6230i it may be that TMJ is slightly too large to run on it reliably (it has a maximum JAR size of 300kB, which is pretty close to TMJs size), although I would think that it should just about cope...!

Any luck?

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,

thanks to that fast response.

Yes, tried multiple times to connect to BT - no success. Will try your hint soon ..

About the user / pw combo: I think its a problem with the GPRS connection.

Now I get a Connection error:

javax.microedition.pki.CertificateException: Certificate failed.

I have a Nokia 6630 too, which is Series 60.

I think I should try this one ...

But, as I said. On my BB bold TMJ is running fine, so thanks for that great apps!

Does the connection error only appear after selecting the 'Login to Existing Account' option and then entering the Username/Password? I suspect this might be due to the connection being made over HTTPS - ie a secure connection, which may not be supported by the phone, hence the certificate error. (This is the only reason I can think that it might give that error - TMJ doesn't use any other form of certificate)

By entering the Username, Device Code and Device Password into the Settings/Set TMJ Device Code box should get around this (the Login to Existing Account simply connects to the TMJ site to grab these details anyhow), although if the phone has other connection issues as well, then the Web functions may still pose a problem.

I'd think the 6630 might have more luck, though its still quite an old handset so may not be ideal - at least the BB Bold is okay!! ;-)

Cheers,
Stephen
