I just installed TMJ on my G705. Outside I tried the programme but even after several minutes it was saying GPS Timeout and after this GPS Signal Invalid.
Has anybody an idea why it doens't work (I allowed TMJ to use the internal GPS and definied that I have an internal GPS device)?

Hi, try ticking the Menu/Settings/Other Settings/Int GPS: Basic Connection option (restart after changing this).

Also, has the GPS definitely got a signal (use the phones built-in GPS Status utility to check this)?

Same problem with my G705 - GPSed is working perfect, but TMJ does not update anything - GPS signal OK but no data...

Hi,

It does seem like many of the new Sony Ericsson GPS-enabled phones can take a long time to get an initial signal - could you try leaving the phone stationary outside (in good view of the sky) for a little while, maybe 5 minutes or so and see if it does eventually get a fix? The 'Basic Connection' option should be set, and theoretically 'Allow Costs' *should* speed up the time-to-fix (make sure that Use Assisted GPS is enabled in the phones settings).

There are definitely a number of others using SE GPS-enabled JP8 phones successfully (eg G705, C905, etc), so I must admit I am a bit confused as to why it seems to work better on some, but not other (otherwise identical) handsets!

Cheers,
Stephen
