Hi Stephen,

How easy would it be to implement a trip milometer. ie an independant distance counter that could be easily reset without having to create a new track section or anything else like that?

Chris.

I'm not Stephen :-) but why not create a new track section just for that ? (at least that what I'm doing when I need mileage of a certain trip).

Hi Guys, yes a new track section is the main option for recording a trip distance, though I guess this might not always be ideal if you just want to measure a small distance (where its not worth creating a new section) or a large distance (which might contain a number of sections automatically created due to being stationary, etc).

I've thought about adding some sort of 'stopwatch', maybe this could be combined with the trip function...?

shchenka: Yes, I agree that normally, I could just use a new section, but the other day, I just wanted to measure a specific distance, but didn't really want to start a new section. Also, a trip milometer could record the distance across several sections (at least until you reset it...)

Stephen: A combined stopwatch/trip milometer type tool sounds great!

thanks,

chris.
