Could the "speed limits" be used to automatically pause/unpause track recording or start a new track section instead of alerting only ? E.g. I may be not interested in track recording when driving but only when walking or vice-versa and TMJ could automatically pause my track recording based on my speed ? This could seve me the precious track points on the longer multi-leg trips.

Or maybe auto-switch profiles based on the speed ? Just speculating ...

P.S. Of course the "Maximum Track Speed" setting of the activitiy profiles could be partially used for this.

I've spent quite a bit of time generally trying to think up ways that the program can judge what kind of activity you're doing, but have come to the conclusion that this is pretty much impossible to do reliably! Theres so much GPS error at low speeds and potential for it to make mistakes that I don't think I'd be worth the effort!

Its possible I suppose, though I do wonder whether having sooo many options like this can make it too confusing. I can just see situations where the speed threshold keeps being crossed and so generates lots of little 'meaningless' track sections... ??

Indeed, probably not worth it, unless more users request this. Myself, I'm not convinced either. Sorry for bothering you and thanks.
