Hi Ondrej,

The P1i might work slightly differently from my SE W910i, but the principle should be the same. Connect the phone to your PC and create a new folder (called eg TMJMaps) in the root of the memory card, and save the map in this folder. You *should* then be able to access this via the D or E drive in the TMJ Map selection screen.

It might be that the P1i doesn't allow access to certain folders. If so, do the process in reverse, eg see which folders you can access in TMJ (is there a D:/Images or D:/Other, for example), and then locate this folder on your PC and save the map in it.

(Since each phone model works a little differently, its difficult to give specific advice about a particular handset - perhaps someone else here can help further??)

Cheers,
Stephen

ps: The P1i might also load the maps a little quicker if you select the Menu/Settings/Alternate Map Loading method option.

Dear Stephen! I did so like you have written and it WORKS!!! Thank you so so so much for help, yes, this P1i is a bit difficult phone to control, but we got it;) I am sure, that TMJ is the best navigation program. Where can I get any maps? I am from czech, I need it for flying in glider. Do you have any tip? And the last question-I would like to donate your program, is it possible through PayPal? THANKS! Ondrej

Hi Ondrej,

Cool - glad it worked! Don't worry about the donation for the moment, although I'm thinking about adding a paypal button on the website in the next few weeks, so that would be appreciated!!

Maps can be created from OpenStreetMap using the MapOrganiser - OSM coverage of The Czech Republic is currently a bit patchy, but possibly good enough for gliding! Is there a particular area of the country that you need (I can make one up for you, though a high detail map of the whole country might be a bit too large!).

I'd be interested to see any tracks that you might record from gliding - my testing so far has been limited to walking up small hills (in the South of England the highest we have is about 300m!), so it would be interesting to get some really high altitude logs for testing...

Cheers,
Stephen

Halo Stephen!
I found OpenStreet, as you have written me. Very nice, I thing enough for Gliding. I will try to find also the map with altitude coloration. As you say, I need Surroundings about 70 km round my Base (named SKUTEČ) for basic flights. If you have time, I will be glad of your help - it should have maximum 300mb and I will upload it on the PhoneCard-
I have also some logs from my gliding, if you want it, I can send. Off course, those logs are made by GPSJ, because I didnt have TMJ:( After I have a map, I will start with testing TMJ in the glider. Do you want to send any raw data from my gps? if yes, give me just e.mail and I will send it. (or just send ma contact to my e-mail).
Looking forward to cooperation! Ondrej

Hi Ondrej,

I've created a map using the MapOrganiser covering an area roughly from Prague to Brno - I hope that's sufficient. Its only 3Mb in filesize (and around 20megapixels), though the detail isn't great but will hopefully be good enough for you to see which town/village you're flying over! You can download it from here (right-click and select 'Save Target As...').

Regarding the logs, if they are in NMEA format then that would be best as I can then test them directly in TMJ. Don't worry otherwise, though next time you go flying it would be useful if you were able to record an NMEA log from TMJ (In Menu/GPS/Log Options set the Log Type and Log Folder before connecting to the GPS). Just send it to the address in the TMJ registration email (let me know if you no longer have this)...

Have a good flight!!

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Ondrej,

I've just checked the P1/SJP3 build and there was a minor bug which might explain the error. Try downloading it again (I've added a new P1 option to the download page, separate from the previous P1/W960 option). There may be some keypad-mappings that don't yet quite work correctly, but see if it installs to start with...

Cheers,
Stephen
