Hello.

How can I convert a KML file so I can display it on my phone? I don't need turn-by-turn directions, just a coloured line.
Specifically, I want to use the KML file for the Dorset Walk for Wildlife shown here: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&t=h&source=embed&dg=feature&msa=0&output=kml&msid=206840803273176425701.0004eb253516f88bc82dc (or click View Walk for Wildlife routes 2104 in a larger map then the KML link from here: http://www.dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk/walkforwildlife.html).

Hi Jon,

Sorry about the delaying in replying - hope its not now too late!

Yes, this is possible, but firstly the KML file needs to be converted to GPX format. There is an online converter that can do this at gpsvisualizer.com.

Then upload the GPX file via the UPLOAD/Track from GPX page. Upload it to the Routes folder.

Then on the phone the route can be downloaded via the Menu/Web/Download Route/Web Folders functions.

Hope it helps!

Regards,
Stephen

Thanks Stephen.

I just tried that, but it didn't work:-
Imported 0 trackpoints as '20140410143334-14144-data'

I'll see if I can draw it by hand.
